A dab'll do ya!

So we've all see the infomercials about Bare Minerals makeup... you know- the one where you swirl, tap and buff your way to a flawless face, right? Ok well I have always been one of the skeptics thinking "yeah right- there's no way" so I decided to finally try it to see once and for all, if it was all smoke and mirrors or the real thing. I picked up a starter kit at the local Sephora store and then waited 6 days to try it... I just knew I was gonna be disappointed so I put off the inevitable. Yeah- I'm weird like that.

Fast forward to last night... I looked at the box (still in the black & white striped Sephora bag) and decided the moment of truth had come. My best friend C had told me "you can open it and if you don't like it for whatever reason- you can just take it back and they'll refund your money." Now I love C and all, but I seriously doubted that I could open all the stuff, use it and still get my money back. So... being the type A personality that I am, I washed my face and then promply called Sephora to verify that what C said was in fact, accurate before I broke open the goods. Lo and behold- it was! Ok- now I was excited! I would have fun proving them wrong AND then I could go get my money back. Yes sireee.

I opened all the brushes and containers with care- still convinced it was all a scam and in no time I would be packing it all back up neatly in the box and marching my happy ass right back to Sephora demanding they give me my money back. Long story short- I proceeded to put in the instructional DVD (yep- the DVD alone screams- SUCKER! ha!) and started the whole swirl, tap, and buff process with the excitement of a visine commercial (you know the ones with that annoying monotone guy in them?).

Then the most amazing thing happened.... the shit actually worked!! I stared in amazement at how just a tiny bit of "powder" was seriously, really able to transform my face! When I got to the warmth container- I was beyond myself with excitement! A few swipes of Mineral Veil later- I was in swirl, tap and buff heaven! I seriously don't have any idea how this stuff works like it does- but it's amazing and I'm a total fan now. And it's like they say "a dab'll do ya!" It's genius.

Whew, and to think I almost went through life Bare Mineral-less because I was so skeptical. Lesson learned? Sometimes you just have to have some faith. ;)
